Officer's dirk to the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders contained in original case. Dirk with a plain blade of regulation pattern. The hilt of bogwood of interlaced design with gilt stud decoration. A gilt thistle embossed mount supports a foiled citrine. The black leather sheath with gilt embossed mounts the top mount with a Victorian Crown thistle device. Matching knife and fork en-suite. All four mounts on back of sheath marked with a round thistle, the makers emblam. The rear top mount also stamped with details of maker R.& H.B. Kirkwood/66 & 68 Thistle St./Edinburgh. Blade: 13 inches. Condition: good.The working period for Robert & Henry Bruce Kirkwood appears to be 1872 until 1915. Contained in the original leather and velvet lined R & H.B. Kirkwood of Edinburgh case (end panel of case now absent).

    • 1994 -1st Battalion, Highlanders (Seaforth, Gordons and Camerons), upon amalgamation with the Gordon Highlanders
    • 2006 - The Highlanders, 4th Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland, also know as 4 SCOTS
