72nd (Duke of Albany’s Own) Highlanders shoulder belt plate. O/R’s pattern rectangular shoulder belt plate with crowned thistle wreath to the centre with regimental number 72, above with title scroll and lower part with “OWN HIGHLANDERS”. Reverse with four stud fittings. Brass. 1825 – 1855.
Probably the most reproduced plate of all times. However, this one is original with the correct fault line through the top of the 72.
