Officer's dirk to the 93rd (Sutherland Highlanders). Double engraved blade. Fittings believed to be silver (but not tested). On one side of the blade etchings of the QVC crown (Queen Victoria Crown) over VR and sunrays, '93rd' in an elaborate laurel wreath and makers name Hamburger Rogers/& Co./30 Kings St/Covent Garden/London. On other side QVC crown over VR and sunrays, 'Cape of Good Hope', 'Sutherland 93rd Highlanders'. Cairngorms on dirk and ensuite knife (with markings G. H. ???Shefield) and fork. Dirk: 19 3/4 inches. Blade: 12 3/4 inches. Condition. Good. Two missing stubs on pommel and four on knife en suite. Two mounts slighlty loose. Leather to hilt at rear aged. The makers Hamburger Rogers & Co.were in business between 1840 and 1917.

The 93rd (Sutherland Highlanders) Regiment of Foot was a Line Infantry Regiment of the British Army, raised in 1799. Under the Childers Reforms, it amalgamated with the 91st (Argyllshire Highlanders) Regiment of Foot to form the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
